How we started
Canonium Wealth Planning was born out of a strong desire to create an honest, client-focused approach. Leveraging the power of modern technology, we provide a financial plan that’s right for you and you only.
The story so far
Giving you confidence and reassurance
Finances are a central part of life and so inherently tied up with emotions. We recognise this and always make sure to help you deal with not just the financial, but the emotional side of managing your wealth. We started Canonium Wealth Planning with the explicit goal of setting ourselves apart from many of the others in the industry. To do so, we’re steadfastly committed to a set of principles that guide everything we do, and in particular the Code of Conduct of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI).

Client-focused
We are client-focused, but what does that really mean? It means we recognise the significant investment you’re making not just financially, but in terms of trust and emotions, too. We take that responsibility extremely seriously.
Holistic
We take a holistic approach to financial planning, which means we look at the big picture rather than just the immediate problem at hand. We help clients realise the full implications of the decisions involved to ensure the route they take is right for them.
Honest
We’re always honest. Sometimes this involves difficult conversations and telling some hard truths, but we never shy away from that. We firmly believe it is far better to have a frank conversation that will help you, rather than just tell you what you want to hear.
Independent
We are independent, which means there's no bias towards particular funds or products, allowing us to craft a bespoke solution that's right for your unique circumstances.
Transparent
We know that financial products and planning can be confusing. For you to trust us fully on this journey, it's crucial you fully understand every part of the plan, so we always communicate in plain, simple language.

We use state-of-the-art technology to streamline our operations, ensuring maximum time is spent with clients working towards their goals. This also allows for efficient communication no matter where you are or when you need us.
Meet the team
The team at Canonium Wealth Planning draw on the professional services of Validpath Ltd; investment solutions from throughly researched investment managers; numerous IT service providers; and independent paraplanning and administration support specialists. This enables us to operate efficiently and nimbly.
Mark Coomber
Financial Planner and Managing Director
I began my career with a brief spell training as an electronics engineer. However, I quickly realised that my love for numbers, maths, and problem solving meant I was better suited to the world of finance.
And so began a long career in private banking at Coutts & Co. I made the move into the field of providing unbiased, fee-based advice in 2009. During this period, I worked within a couple of small, independent financial advice firms, as well as an accountancy practice.
This led me to where I am today, offering a truly independent, personal, and bespoke financial planning service to ensure my clients enjoy lifelong financial peace of mind.
When I’m not working I enjoy cricket, skiing, sailing, live music and wine.

Julie Gay
Operations Manager
As Department Head for Coutts & Co Card Services, Julie managed the day-to-day operations of the specialist card department within one of the UK’s premier private banks, catering to high networth individuals, and even royalty.
This was a varied role in which Julie utilised her first-class skills in management, specialist technical input and coaching, dealing directly with VIP clients, and crisis management. For example, she assisted in the repatriation of clients stranded in Indonesia without access to money and cards due to the Boxing Day tsunami of 2004.
Today Julie plays a key role in the co-ordination and support for Canonium’s valued clients.
